Norris Tops Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has beaten his teammate at each of the last five race weekends.
The McLaren driver just pipped fellow driver and championship contender the Australian for the fastest time in the closing stages of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who grabbed the championship lead from his teammate by just one point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix two weeks ago, outpaced the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Before then, Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver throughout the hour before the sprint shootout due at 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the other racer in the championship fight, trailing 36 points Norris, ended up in 17th position as his team opted for a alternative strategy.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to have an incident, albeit lightly, when he rotated at the fourth corner soon after starting.
Tsunoda spun out over the curbs on exit before rotating through the gravel trap, and was blessed to get away with just a minor contact of the barrier.
The Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton also spun, at the final moments of the session, rotating twice through the high-speed Mergulho turn leading to the last turn on to the main straight.
Hamilton wrapped up in 19th place, one place behind team-mate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren drivers were well clear of the remaining drivers, with the German's car third fastest, 0.619 seconds behind Piastri's best.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Bortoleto ahead of the Mercedes of Russell and Alpine's Pierre Gasly and the Williams of Sainz.
